On your wedding day, you should look like yourself at your most beautiful! Included below are a few tips on booking an artist for your wedding day and what to expect from us at Bogart Beauty!
Tip 1.
We recommend booking your beauty team after booking the venue to make sure you have options for great artists. Well known or talented artists will be booked as much as a year in advance for popular dates.
When choosing your glam squad do not cut costs. Your photos last a lifetime, don’t skimp on glam or your photography. It is much more than makeup. A highly experienced team will not only make you feel beautiful with their makeup artistry but also have an art to dealing with stress that may unfold around you on the wedding day and making sure you are at ease through the whole process.
Put in the work to research looks that you envision for your big day to discuss with your artist. This helps us visualize what you have in mind. When you describe a makeup look is up for interpretation vs what an image can show an artist exactly what you desire.
Tip 2.
For makeup inspiration, I suggest looking back at photos of yourself where you felt most beautiful. I encourage my brides to pull up their profile photos, pictures from Instagram or events they attended where they felt most gorgeous and glam. I want you to feel your best and if there is something you would like to change, please feel free to tell me. I remind you it is makeup, not hair color we can always wipe it off. Sometimes brides change their minds once they see their trial and want something even more dramatic/softer than they initially planned.
We will also discuss pre-wedding treatments and discuss what is best for your skin; especially depending on what your wedding destination is and your skin type.

PREPARING FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN BOOKING YOUR TRIAL:
DESTINATION BRIDES:
For the beach destination bride: The sun, sand and ocean spray are all well and good when sunbathing in a bikini, but they're not so kind to brides and burnt painful skin on your big day. Be mindful of being in the sun for the days leading up to your wedding and you have planned events and excursions with your family and friends. Use SPF to ensure you do not burn as well as keep those strap lines off your shoulders with your strapless gown. No one wants to look like a lobster in their wedding photos. For a quick fix take Ibuprofen to minimize inflammation. Don’t forget blot films to keep a beach bride looking radiant and glowing in all the right ways long after the sun has set.
Avoid new hair color, a drastic haircut, and minimize alcohol consumption as this can make you appear puffy and weaken the digestive system. Spray tans, try this months in advance to see how the color will work on your skin and the intensity you desire. Try lash extensions before your wedding month in case you have an allergic reaction to the glue. This is more common than you think. A new workout, no one wants a pulled muscle and limping down the aisle. Doing a juice cleanse, although this is awesome for your body and I fully support these; doing it too close to saying “I Do” may cause you to purge toxins from the body through your skin and break out.
Tip 4.
BEAUTY/SKIN TIPS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY:
Add in a personal trainer to the wedding day countdown to keep your body moving and help release stress. Crush your personal bridal boot camp goals & get in your sweat sessions to get you wedding day ready! You will create a fitness lifestyle with habits that go far beyond the honeymoon.
Visit a dermatologist if you have bigger skincare concerns, and create a routine for regular facials with an aesthetician. Regularly exfoliate and add a brightening serum to your routine and do not forget your Decolletage and chest area.
I encourage you to do a Hydrafacial the week of the wedding to plump and hydrate the skin. Try out Dermaplaning the week before or after your wedding to have a smooth flawless finish to your look. This also helps exfoliate the skin and helps serums penetrate deeper into the skin to be more effective. I suggest trying these at least once before you do them right before your wedding week to see if you have any skin sensitivities.
Tip 5.
WEDDING SKINCARE PLAN:
Let your brows grow out and talk with a brow specialist to perfect your arch for your wedding day.
One too many cocktails at the rehearsal dinner the night before or just not catching enough zzz’s? Use an eye mask and a cool jade roller on the skin to de-puff. Keep face masks in the fridge for an extra cooling effect and to lessen puffiness. Always drink lots of water throughout the day.
Just because you're saying goodbye to wedding planning, doesn't mean you should be bidding farewell to your beauty routine. Hopefully, after you have implemented this routine over the last year you are able to continue to make it a part of your regular self-care routine.
FAQs
How long does it take for services?
We like to spend an hour on the bride and 30 min each additional face. This includes skin prep and lashes, the bride receives customized additional skin prep and luxury lashes.
Where is your salon located?
Bogart Beauty does not have a salon location. We are centrally based in Buckhead, Atlanta. We specialize in on-location makeup services and will gladly come to your home or hotel for your appointment.
Is a trial included in bridal rates?
The trial is a separate fee. During the trial, we will review your gown/saris for the weekend's wedding events. We will review inspiration photos and create a unique look, especially for your wedding weekend.
What can I do to prepare for my trial run?
Bring any images you have found as inspiration. Pinterest is a bride's best friend! Come with clean hydrated skin. We will prep your skin and give product suggestions based upon your skin's needs and prep accordingly. If you have sensitive skin, please address your skin concerns with us and bring any products that may be best for your skin type. If you choose to do your hair trial at the same time, discuss with your hairstylist to see if you will need any extensions for your bridal looks so you can see your full look come to life!
Do you do airbrush services?
We prefer to wardrobe foundations specifically for each client. Gone are the days of only a few foundation options to choose from; a powder, and heavy full coverage cream foundations. Now brands have created beautiful light airbrush effect long-wearing textures that there are so many to choose from to pick the perfect one for your skin type!
What kind of lashes do you use?
I can apply either strip or individual lashes for your events. Individual lashes are lightweight, natural and comfortable. *By using individuals, I do not mean the extended wear lash extensions that last 2-4 weeks. These are to be worn one day, washed off and removed. I gladly use strip lashes if that is the look you desire or if you have a specific lash you would like.
How many people can you accommodate in a wedding party?
The amount of wedding parties that we can accommodate is contingent upon the day's events and prior bookings. We can also bring along an assistant per request to help with the day to help expedite the wedding day. This will be a scalable additional fee.
How much do you charge for travel?
Travel rates all vary based upon services and locations. If you book a destination wedding and only chose to book services for the bride. We have a minimum fee for days we are out of town and not able to service local clients. Rates vary based upon days of the week; inquire per your events needed.

Do you travel for destinations?
Not getting married in Atlanta! No problem! Erica and her team specialize in soft glam for local brides and destinations worldwide. We have traveled as far as Greece and Guatemala to do weddings and our bags are always packed for travel!
